Welcome to Gem Matrix Research and Certification Lab, North Delhi’s dedicated and scientifically equipped gemstone and Rudraksha testing laboratory. We are committed to offering authentic, unbiased, and precise identification services for gemstones, semi-precious stones, and Rudraksha beads.
Founded and led by Ms. Anvi Bansal, a trained gemologist with a Color Stone Diploma from IGI, Delhi, the lab is built on principles of scientific accuracy, transparency, and education. Our mission is to empower customers, jewellers, astrologers, collectors, and retailers with clear, reliable information backed by advanced gemological instruments.
In today’s market, where imitation stones, treated gems, and fake Rudraksha beads circulate frequently, genuine knowledge and scientific testing are essential. Gem Matrix Research and Certification Lab was established to ensure that trust and authenticity remain at the center of every transaction.
Gem Matrix began with a simple vision—bringing world-class gem testing standards to North Delhi in an accessible and trustworthy way. During her academic and industry experience, Anvi Bansal realized that customers often struggled to understand what they were purchasing. Many stones looked identical to the untrained eye. Rudraksha buyers often faced even bigger challenges because counterfeits are extremely common and difficult to identify without scientific support.
With years of dedicated study at IGI Delhi and practical experience in gemstone handling, identification, and analysis, Anvi decided to build a laboratory that upholds international testing methodologies. She envisioned a space where customers could walk in with confidence and receive a transparent, scientific explanation of their gemstone or Rudraksha.
Today, Gem Matrix Research and Certification Lab is known for its strong ethics, modern infrastructure, and client-focused approach. Our lab partners with jewellery stores, astrology centers, online sellers, and individual consumers seeking scientific validation.
We aim to expand access to credible gemstone testing services across India and beyond — becoming a laboratory that is known for trust, scientific integrity, and reliable certification. Whether it’s a precious diamond, a rare coloured gemstone, or an heirloom jewellery piece, GemMatrix will reveal its truth with precision.
At Gem Matrix Research and Certification Lab, we believe that accurate testing requires both expertise and world-class equipment. Our facility is equipped with all essential machines used in modern gemological science, ensuring precision and reliability.
Below is a complete list of our in-house testing equipment:
Used for detecting optical character, single or double refraction, and internal strain. Essential for identifying natural stones and differentiating them from synthetics.
One of the most important tools for determining the refractive index of gemstones. Crucial for identifying species like sapphire, ruby, quartz, and tourmaline.
Our high-quality microscope helps reveal inclusions, crystal structures, heat treatments, fractures, and synthetic growth patterns. It is the heart of accurate gemstone analysis.
Used to observe absorption spectra, which helps determine the chemical composition of stones and detects enhancement treatments.
Helps in detecting treatments, identifying diamond types, and differentiating between natural and synthetic stones.
Used to study pleochroism—an important property in stones like iolite, tourmaline, and corundum.
Used to measure density for accurate gemstone identification.
Ensures precise gemstone weight measurements.
Used to quickly differentiate natural stones from common imitations.
A controlled lighting environment with daylight-equivalent illumination to grade color stones accurately.
Reveals treatments such as dyeing, fracture filling, and resin infusion.
Used for highly advanced mineral identification where standard methods are insufficient.
Rudraksha testing requires advanced non-destructive techniques. Our lab offers all modern facilities for accurate identification of natural Rudraksha beads.
The core of our Rudraksha authentication process.
This machine helps:
Our X-Ray results provide complete clarity without damaging the bead.
Provides a detailed 3D cross-section for premium Rudraksha buyers and collectors.
Used to analyze natural grooves, corns, texture, and surface authenticity.
Used to evaluate bead dryness, maturity, and naturalness.
Helps detect polishing, wax coating, chemical treatment, or artificial color.
Every gemstone and Rudraksha undergoes a systematic, scientific process:
Initial evaluation of color, clarity, transparency, surface, and natural attributes.
Using refractometer, polariscope, dichroscope, and magnification tools.
Microscopic study of inclusions, growth patterns, and natural fingerprints.
Spectroscope, UV testing, Raman testing, or X-Ray analysis.
Internal chamber structure, mukhi count, and authenticity confirmation.
